Even drought-tolerant plants like Salvia leucantha suffer from the lack of regular moisture. |
Forecasters give us a 20 to 30 percent chance of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. I have no faith in their predictions, and even when they do hit the mark, it behooves me to remember the remarkable rain-repelling properties of my corner. Yet another bummer ... the sight of dessicated earthworm carcasses on my flagstones and in the streets. The poor creatures crawl out of the ground looking for a bit of moisture and that's all she wrote. Depressing, aren't I? If it weren't for the mostly delightful temperatures and the lack of humidity, I'd be even more glum.
