Through the Garden Gate: Christmas Edition

On a chilly Christmas Day, I stepped outside, Canon in hand, to document the garden before tonight's hard freeze.  As 2010 winds to a close, I wish for each of you the same peace and joy I find in my garden, today and every day.

Your garden looks great-even on a cold and windy Christmas Day!

It's nice to see the "bare bones" of your garden...and yet, it is not really bare. I saw a lot of green with a few blooms here and there. Will you cover anything for your hard freeze? Merry Christmas, and a wonderful New Year to you.

Your garden looks beautiful on Christmas morning. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope to sit in your garden and chat 'plantish' with you and I hope we do the same in mine.

I would love to know how you protect your garden from the cold. I'm a beginner a few miles east of you in Houston. I notice I'm the only one in the neighborhood with frost cloth this morning.

I enjoy your blog. It's perfect with my morning coffee.

MT, hope you stayed warm & cozy on Christmas!

MG, I covered a few things for the freeze. I'll undo them today and see how they fared. The forecast lows are in the 50s and even 60s for the rest of the week.

Layanee, I second those hopes!

Carol, the HG behaved herself for once!

FandF, welcome! I'm honored to be part of your morning ritual!

Cindy - What a great tour! I am hoping to be able to see it in leaf this spring.

Cindy, it looks so pretty. All is brown and gray here. Boring. I hope the freeze didn't nip it too bad. Merry Christmas my friend, and Happy New Year too.~~Dee

What a welcome respite from the nonstop white outside my door--so nice to see your lovely green garden. I hope the freeze didn't damage anything for you.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Cindy, and best wishes for a great gardening year in 2011!
