I believe I see a blue pyramid of Arizona cypress in there, and if you have one of those, it's all you need for winter happiness. Thanks for celebrating foliage with me.
Pam, my Arizona cypress is one of my proudest achievements as a gardener. My plan is to eventually remove the pine and let 'Carolina Sapphire' have pride of place. Maybe I need to plant more of them :-)

Well, as they say, it's all relative. I know you're not used to seeing dead brown things. You're more used to greenish-not-growing things in winter. Look on the bright side - maybe a few more bad bugs got killed.
GWGT/MT/Jean: I think what gets to me the most is the unevenness of it all. Shriveled and blackened foliage amidst so many healthy green plants is unsettling to my psyche. I'm such a delicate flower myself ... (the HG will kindly stop rolling on the floor or I'll dock her wages.)
