A Little Post

At the end of a long but rewarding day in the garden today, I collapsed for a few minutes in one of my Adirondack chairs and surveyed my queendom. And I realized something ... it only takes a little to make me happy.

A little foliage coming up from a late planted bulb ...

Or a little Big Golden Sun Narcissus ...

Give me a little seedling springing from between the rocks ...

A little Nasturtium that survived the most recent cold spell ...

And a little new foliage on Salvia 'Silke's Dream' ...

and on Salvia regla.

A little berry can make me happy, too ...

And just a little touch of red showing on the Indian Paintbrush.

Few things can make me as happy as a little Linaria, be it purple ...

Or yellow.

Even a little bug on the Scabiosa can make me happy, if only because I haven't seen these juvenile milkweed bugs all winter and seeing them now means that it must be spring!

I agree! A little of this and a little of that can lead to a whole lot of happiness in the garden!
Those are all the things that make me happy too Cindy! Wish I could grow paintbrush. I planted some, but guess they did not germinate.
Darn..I'll try again next year though.

Your little post has a lot of charm, Cindy - love that linaria.

So those are immature milkweed bugs? Look like insects that I saw on the frozen back bicolor iris today but I wasn't sure what they were.

Oh, I agree, Cindy! These are the little things that make me happy, too. In fact, I'd be ecstatic to see some signs of green in my garden right now. Looks like spring has truly arrived in your garden!
Wow, you've got a lot of lovely things blooming now Cindy! Time for me to head out to the garden too. I just need a few more things blooming though...
