Sadness on My Corner of Katy

I posted this on Facebook yesterday and wanted to share it with y'all so you'll understand why I've not been blogging much lately and may not have much to say for a few days. As much as I'm hurting for and with Hayley, I know her grief is immeasurably deeper.

My daughter is without a doubt the bravest, most compassionate and most selfless person I know. She made the difficult decision yesterday to say goodbye to her beloved kitty Loki rather than put him through more treatments that had only a small chance of saving his life. Loki was only 2 years old so it was especially hard to know what was best for him. She held him in her arms as he crossed the Rainbow Bridge and the last thing he saw was her face. Hayley, you are my hero and you make me proud every day but never more so than yesterday.

I'm crying with you as a fellow cat lover, MCOK. So so sorry; I know how hard that is as I've done it also. Heartbreaking, absolutely. Many hugs.

So sorry. It must have been especially hard since he was such a young cat. I hope her heart heals soon.

My heart goes out to your daughter, Cindy. Such a difficult decision to make, but no doubt the best for Loki. I hope that memories of happier times with her precious kitty can bring Hayley some comfort.

I can't begin to find the words to say how sorry I am, I have 7 dogs and 7 adult cats and 4 brand new kittens....I love them all. I live in the country and we are the drop off station for unwanted animals. Please give your daughter my love.

As a Furbaby mommy, my heart aches for your daughter! It is never easy to make that call but up to us to do the best for our baby's. Loki is now running the fields over that special bridge with many loved babys such as my Skeeter boy...

Thank you all for your kind words. Hayley was touched by your caring and concern. She'll miss him for a long time but she's over the worst.

Mrs. Bee, you can get Vitex at most of the nurseries around here.
