My hopes of a return of Saturday's sunshine and clear skies were dashed within moments of arising today. The skies were gray, the air was cool and damp, and a stiff breeze sent me scuttling back inside for my jacket after a few minutes outside. I sense that Mother Nature finds it necessary to remind me once again that winter is not done with us yet. I sulked briefly but all was forgiven when I spotted the first blooms on Narcissus 'Avalanche'. The sun may have hidden its face from me but there's still sunshine to be found in the cheery faces of these beauties.
